Sarah Bapple

My name is Sarah and I am a makeup artist. I am known for my editorial style and special effects. I found my passion for special effects and creating monsters from my dad; he would run a haunted house every Halloween and as a little girl I watched as he turned from a familiar warm face into the scariest creatures, just like magic. Eight years ago he passed his kit down to me and I’ve been practicing since then. I received my license from Palm Beach State College and I have worked on several short films, including “Slumber is Golden” (2019) and “Parasomnia” (2022).

Ever since I was in high school, I would find any excuse to do my friend’s makeup. Yes, I was the girl who would show up to first period in a full smoky eye just for the fun of it! I have a natural interest in art and over time my canvas of choice changed from paper to faces. I grew up with my father making haunted houses from scratch out of our garage and eventually passed his makeup kit down to me, with neither of us realizing this would spark a new passion in me: special effects makeup.

Now you can find me preparing models for shoots, monsters for short independent films, or creating avant-garde looks for striking music video visuals. I take pride in working with clients to make their ideas come to life before our very eyes. Makeup is more than application, it’s transforming into a new character.

When I’m not painting my face for my Instagram, I enjoy practicing yoga and dominate at trivia nights. I have two dogs that were excellent study buddies when I earned my Associate’s Degree from Palm Beach State College and subsequently my esthetics license, although they weren’t the best test dummies…
